New Music: Pony Girl – ‘Foreign Life’ video

Ottawa’s Pony Girl have released a new video for their song ‘Foreign Life’ of their upcoming LP, the title of which still remains a mystery. The song is fairly simple, containing soft keys and a series of bleeps and bloops. However, lead singer Pascal Huot’s relaxed and whispery vocals allow us to fall into the song and grasp the lyrics on our own. It’s the kind of song that only works short and simple. Paired with an eerie, dimly lit video that shows Pascal playing his keys on a stovetop while battling the darkness with intermittent fluorescent lighting, Pony Girl have certainly gotten off to a great start in garnering some attention for their upcoming release. Ming Wu’s Birthday Bash: Flying Horses, Big Dick, DJ Sweetcheecks and Adam Saikaley

February 20th has brought us such greats as Kurt Cobain, Rihanna, Angelina Grimké, and Ming Wu. How does one celebrate such an occasion? Well you get Flying Hórses, Big Dick, DJ Sweetcheeks, and Adam Saikaley to perform at Babylon… Oh, and you do so without telling the birthday boy until the afternoon of the show. Ming is an omnipresent individual in Ottawa, going to almost every single event. Ever. He always brings his camera and snaps some shots wherever he goes. 4in1 Sessions (September Arboretum Edition)

We’ve got a great lineup for the first fall edition of 4in1, and what better place to hold this session than the Dominion Arboretum off Dow’s Lake?

Matias Munoz (me) will be at the Arboretum at about 1:30 PM to help bands settle in and set up, and signs will be put up along the path starting at the right side of the restaurants building (Guadalaharry’s/Malone’s) on Dows Lake. After a short walk along the path (there will be signs along the way too), you will see us settled in just off the path in a perfect nook.

If it rains, the tunnels beside Mill St. Brew Pub (555 Wellington St) – but we’ll make this call the day of so until then, Arboretum it is.
